Irresponsible borrowing and loaning practices are widely considered to be at the heart of the current economic crisis, but this article reports that many colleges have contracts with banks exchanging student information for money. Bank of American and Michigan State have a 7 year contract worth $8.4 million. “The more students who take the banks’ credit cards, the more money the university gets.”
